And yes, you read that correctly, these programs are FREE to participate in! Band and strings programs take place entirely during the school day and the only extracurricular commitment is two-three performances a year, and practice at home. For those students who are unable to rent instruments from local stores, we do have limited school instruments and supplies available, so ANY student who wants to join CAN participate. These programs are an excellent way to learn to play an instrument at a very low cost to families, and the experience can benefit children in so many ways. Studies show that students who play an instrument often improve academically by creating new brain pathways to learning. Students in these programs also develop their social skills by working with others creatively to perform and make music. With all the struggles of our current reality, it is also important to note that playing music can help reduce stress and anxiety!
Please join our musical family and give strings or band a try. Instruction for these programs will begin in a week or so, we encourage you to sign-up online today at the websites below! Deadlines for registration are at the end of this month, and whether you are new to the program or an experienced parent, we encourage you to email us or drop by our info night with any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your consideration!

2019-2020 info can be found below, but please use the above links for 2020-2021
4th, 5th and 6th graders! It's time to sign up for Band and Strings for this year.
In Band, 4th graders will have the opportunity to learn several instruments during the year (so they won't need to rent an instrument at this time). For 5th & 6th grade Band, and for all Strings grades, you will need to rent an instrument for the 2019-2020 school year. Band will receive rental information at the first day of Band (August 2019). Strings has information posted about how to rent an instrument. If you have a need to borrow a school instrument (instead of renting one on your own), please enroll in strings as soon as possible (don't wait until August 30).
Class for both programs began during the first week back to school in August.
Please read the flyers below for more information about the Music Programs.

StringsA message from Mrs. Camacho, our Strings Teacher: There is still time to sign up for 4th grade strings! This program gets more advanced as the years progress, and we will be starting strings class during the first week of school. With that in mind, any new students wishing to join the program should try to do so before the start of the year if at all possible. The deadline to sign-up is August 30th, but the sooner the better! To find out more information about the program and access the online sign-up, please visit: bit.ly/CamachoStringsPV or you can email Mrs. Camacho at sacamacho@pvschools.net with any questions/concerns. Thank you
