Letter from Mrs. Pavlik

September 18, 2018

Dear Grayhawk Families,

Thank you to those parents that are following the guidelines for our school drop off and pick up procedures.  Today I had a conversation with a member of the Scottsdale Police Department concerning child safety in our back parking lot.  He brought to my attention two areas of concern.   He noticed children walking across the parking lot unaccompanied by an adult. The concern is large sport utility vehicles and trucks often don't see children walking behind the vehicle while backing up. To keep our kids safe, park your car and walk your child to the sidewalk for drop off.  For pick up, park your car and walk to the sidewalk to retrieve your child.  The second issue is regarding parking in the fire line. At no time are vehicles to be parked in the fire lane; this is not a school rule, but a city ordinance, and can lead to a ticket.  Thank you for helping to keep our children safe.

I hope you enjoy your Fall Break and are able to spend quality time with family and friends.  It's hard to believe we are already eight weeks into the school year.  Have a great rest of your week and we will see you next Monday.

Warm Regards,

Michelle Pavlik, Principal
